Meet Zander, Mud Pie's New President!

Alexander Michael Brekke, known as Zander, currently serves as the President of Mud Pie, a leading gift and lifestyle brand known for its innovative designs and exceptional products. Brekke was born in Madison, WI, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction from the University of Wisconsin. He further enhanced his analytical and problem-solving skills by obtaining a Juris Doctor degree from The George Washington University Law School. Before joining Mud Pie, Brekke was an attorney at Stanley, Esrey & Buckley, LLP, a prominent Atlanta-based boutique law firm, where his focus on corporate and real estate transactions showcased his legal acumen and strategic thinking.

Joining Mud Pie in 2016, Brekke was tasked with establishing the company's first human resources department and serving as the company’s first General Counsel. He was subsequently promoted to Executive Vice President. Brekke has shown exceptional leadership abilities during his time with Mud Pie and has played a key role in developing the company’s organizational structure, managing the sales channels, streamlining distribution center operations, supervising product safety and testing, and overseeing all legal aspects of the business.

As President, Brekke adeptly manages all facets of the organization, crafting and executing strategies that harness emerging opportunities and address evolving challenges. He garnered recognition as a Gift + Stationery "40 Under 40" honoree, showcasing his industry influence. Brekke was also appointed to the board of the Gift & Home Trade Association, the industry’s non-profit professional trade association.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Brekke enjoys playing golf, reading and spending quality time with his wife, Lauren, and two sons, Jake and Evan. He also believes in community service. Brekke has been an active volunteer attorney and speaker for the Georgia Justice Project, underscoring his dedication to making a positive impact beyond the boardroom.
